Kindergarten Procedures
Stay-Tuned with COMMUNICATION:
Communication between home & school will occur using multiple sources: your child’s home folder, school & teacher emails, phone calls, text alerts.
HOME FOLDER:
Your child's home folder will come home every Friday. Your child will bring home school work in their home folder and backpack. You may also find notes and handouts from the teacher, the school office, & PTO in the home folder.
Ask QUESTIONS:
If you have any concerns or are wondering why something is happening, please feel free to call or email me. I welcome inquiries that affect your child, our classroom, and our school.
WEBPAGE:
Please see my webpage on the school website for procedures, specials, book order information, and my news-blog.
WEEKLY EMAIL:
I will send a weekly email with news about our week in Kindergarten and include any reminders/announcements.
ATTENDANCE:
Daily attendance at school is important. It might not always be possible to make up the activities done during class so please strive to have your child in school each and every day. Missed work/activities may be sent home. Please call the school office if your child will be absent.
CLASSROOM PHOTOS:
Photos of classroom and school activities will be posted on our "Washington Caldwell School District" Facebook page. (Like us!)
HOMEWORK:
A gold reading bag will be sent home as homework. You'll see leveled books as well as story/picture books from the classroom in the gold bag. Please read daily with your child. Letter cards, number cards, and sight word cards will also be included in gold bags throughout the year.
BOOK ORDERS:
Book orders will be ongoing Sep-May. There will not be any due dates. Please order online, and Scholastic emails me when a parent places an order. Click the "Scholastic book orders" tab above for our class code.
Classroom RULES:
Please click on the green song button at the bottom, below. Students will learn this song and the sign language for each rule.
Classroom BEHAVIOR:
Rules help everyone know what is expected. Proper classroom behavior and respect for all members of our school community is expected.
